LEAP Offers it All…

LEAP offers all publishing services, from copyediting to review of final printer or media files. Through it all, LEAP provides a single-point project manager for each individual project.

Like most publishers, we use a mix of in-house and freelance services. Depending on project needs, the team manager will copyedit, proofread, format, or index a textbook. All of our project managers and assistant managers have extensive editing backgrounds. In addition, the majority of our freelancers have been working in the industry with LEAP since the company’s inception. LEAP will also work with a freelancer of the publisher’s choice, if requested.

Editorial services include:

  • Project management, including author contact, schedule, and budget control

  • Copyediting and marking copy for composition tagging

  • Reviewing sample pages against design and page layout

  • Proofreading, including page layout and content; checking all stages of page composition, including printer proofs; PDF soft-proofing also included

  • Editorial proofreading, combining copyedit and proofread

  • Free reading (reading through content only)

  • Art and photo coordination

  • Permissions management

  • Indexing; preparing glossary and other front matter material

  • Supplement updating and formatting; preparing final printer-ready or online-only digital files with watermarks
